Grounding can be one minute of placing a hand on your chest can help your system settle while waiting at the traffic light. It can look like dropping your shoulders to help you release tension while sitting at your desk during work. Or it can even be slowing your exhale while washing dishes to create space where your thoughts can soften.

Some people ground by stepping outside for a breath of fresh air. Others find grounding in stretching their neck or relaxing their jaw. Even noticing the weight of your feet on the floor can shift your internal state.

These moments bring you back into yourself. They tell your body that it doesn’t have to brace. And once the bracing stops, your mindset begins to clear without force.
